Solar physical cabinet
The solar physical cabinet has been located in the outdoor area of the observatory since 1965. Here one can observe the sun in the quite different ways.
A Jensch - Coelostat catches the light of the sun and directs it into the building. The light falls through a certain fixed, horizontal telescope. The approximately 80 cm large picture of the sun is then projected onto a canvas in the cabinet. One can clearly recognise the sun marks, the blacked out edge and the flared areas.
